It’s official, we’re Seattle’s ”City Dweller’s CSA“!
We’re a commercial urban farm that markets organically produced vegetables, flowers, and honey through a Community Supported Agriculture model and offers consulting services to help develop viable urban farming projects. Our farm thrives in the city because it shares the resourceful, adaptable nature of its namesake. Amaranth Urban Farm produces delightful food and flowers, connects people to their place in the world, and sows seeds for the future of urban growers and eaters. Through an innovative arrangement with private landowners, Amaranth Urban Farm is based in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood, just 8 miles from downtown.
The business model is simple: grow premium quality food on available urban land in the hub of greater Seattle, tapping into the city’s abundant resources of people, raw materials, and infrastructure. As our business grows, we are creating a uniquely urban farm business model where people and profits both matter. One that takes advantage of all the city has to offer by involving people through local business relationships, employment and education; and one that provides the city with a whole lot of delicious food, contributing to a reliable food system and a healthy economy of small, local businesses.
